On 28 February 1927, James Alexander Ferguson, age 74 and son of William Milo and Elizabeth HOGAN Ferguson and husband of Arenia Parthena FEATHERINGILL Ferguson, died at Willow Springs, Missouri. His obituary is as follows:

    "JAS. A. FERGUSON PIONEER CITIZEN PASSES AWAY

James A. Ferguson, age 74 years died at his home in Willow Springs, Monday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. Mr. Ferguson was a pioneer citizen of Willow Springs, having moved here from Tennessee in 1871. About 35 years ago he engaged in the mercantile business under the firm name of Ferguson, Lucas and Kennedy. Since that time he has been engaged in the insurance business. Besides a wife he is survived by two sons and two daughters, J. Bryant and Homer Ferguson of Willow Springs and Mrs. Lissie Gooch of Willow Springs  and Mrs. Myrtle Gaily of Quinter, Kansas. He is also survived by two brothers, D.S. and T.J. Ferguson of Willow Springs, and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Byers of Washington, and Mrs. Susie Harris of Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the home at 2:30 o'clock. A complete obituary will appear in next weeks issue

On 7 November 1944, Arenia Parthena FEATHERINGILL Ferguson, age 83 and daughter of William and Mary E.           Featheringill and widow of James Alexander Ferguson, died in Willow Springs. Her obituary (partial) from the Willow Springs News issue of 9 November 1944 is as follows:
She was united in marriage in 1877 to James A. Ferguson. They farmed for a time and later Mr. Ferguson was engaged in the Ferguson, Lucus & Kennedy Merchantile store here, and later he was engaged in the real estate business. He preceded his wife in death in 1927. They were the parents of seven children, three dying in infancy, and Mrs. Harold Gailey passing away in 1930
