Officer in the French and Indian War. Member of the Virginia House of Burgers during the revolution of Kentucky militia. He and others were killed by indians while engaged in the constructionof his ferry boat, they were fired upon by a party of Shawnee indians. Richard was killed and scalped. Two days latter his body was recoveredand buried at a spot back at the Fort.
Elizabeth and Jemima Boone were captured by the indians. She becamethe wife of Colonel Samuel Henderson just two weeks after she had been rescued, he being one of the rescue party.
Lived in Bedford, Virginia.
Lived in Amherst County, Virginia.
