Information on the Sullivan family taken from "The Sullivans from Ireland to Canada" by Carole Sullivan.

Family records state the following:  The family of Dennis Sullivan and Mary Kelly came to Canada with their family around 1849.  They came from Cahirciveen, County Kerry, Ireland.  It is presumed that the family landed in Quebec, as their oldest son, Daniel found employment at a brewery located at Couteau Landing, about 20 minutes by car from Montreal.  The family settled at Pakinham and resided there 10 years before moving to Brudenell, Ontario, Canada.  Their family is listed on the 1861 census of Brudenell, Ontario.  Apparently, Daniel met Lucy Lavert at Couteau Landing in Quebec.  She was born in Canada - location unknown.
