George Michael IMLER

                   After his father George Mark died in 1788, George Michael brought his mother Anna Esther to Bedford Co. where she died. Laura Semenek had a marker put on the cemetery located on what was Geoge Michael's farm and is now the William Baer farm. Geo. Michael owned much land. He first settled where Imler and Imler Valley is now. When His country called, he served as a Private Ranger in the Rev. War. He died in 1816 and is buried on his farm cemetery with his mother, wife, some children, and other relatives. His military records in Pa. Archives. fought in Revolution 1783 - 1790 being discharged 2/26/1789. He was a private and ranger. He was given 200 acres of land in Ohio for his servies in the war. Militia 5th Company York Co. Rangers, Capt. Emanuel Herman - Bedford Co. Militia Rolls. He was given 200 acres of land for his services in the war. He also served as Bedford Township constable for the year beginning January 1784. He has a very interesting will in the Bedford Co. Court House. His will in is Will Book I, page 463. Will probated 7/3/1816 - Executor - His trusted son Conrad Imler. MILITARY: Served in the York Co. Militia - Captain Herman's Company and as a Ranger in the Bedford County Militia - Pa. 1/25/97-Bedford Co WIlls found the following excerpt: Imler. George, of bedford TWP, Farmer. Will dated 23 feb 1816: probated 3 jul 1816. wife Catharine. Sons Jacob & John. Children Michael & Mary Imler each to have 50 pounds extra on account of their bad health. Son Peter tract he now lives on in Greenfield TWP containing 300 acres. Son Henry the tract he now lives on in State of Ohio. Children: Catharine, Wife of Daniel Croyle, Peter, Conrad, Henry: Hetty, Wife of John Heltzel: Elizabeth, Wife of Peter Imler, my brother's son; Rebecca, Wife of Peter Dill; Michael;Jacob;John and Mary; Childrenof daughter Eve, deceased, wife of Peter Croyle; viz. Henry, Mary & Eve. Exr.: Son Conrad. Wits: I.M.Espy, Dr.John Anderson. May 4 1816. Codicil, My sons Jacob & John are to pay yearly $200 to my son Conrad, until they have paid for their land at the rate of $10 per acre, amounting to $3800.
