Source Jerry McGee diamondm@itexas.net David McGee born about 1740 propably came from Ulster and moved from VA with Daniel Boone. He and his brother William were pioneer family at Boonesborough and built a fort nearby called McGees Fort. He had a son named Robert born 1805 in Kentucky. They moved to Cooper Co., MO about 1809. They originally moved to Boones Lick in Howard County. David is buried in Versaillles, MO. Robert was married 2 times, Sarah McPherson, b. 1809 then her sister Nancy McPherson. His son Robert had several children and his son David was my 3x grandfather. I have quite a bit of McGee family info. I feel I am stuck with David Sr, from Ireland. Jerry Fort Boonesborough Settlers "Bluegrass Roots," published by the Kentucky Genealogical Society, reprinted an article by H. Thomas Tudor about the "Early Settlers of Fort Boonesborough." The article was published in Volume 5, No. 1, p. 1-14. The bibliography was published in a later issue. The references are reproduced here. I DO NOT know where to obtain these references.
