                   The whole family came to Nova Scotia in 1829.  Three brothers-- Robert,
David, Alexander-- went to Pennsylvania (?) & worked in coal mines.
Then all three came west.  Robert settled in Illinois.  David & Alexander
went to California & homesteaded in Modock Co.  Then David left Uncle
Alex & came down & took up the homestead on Thoms Creek.  Later Uncle
Alex, who never married, got rheumatism & moved down to Thoms Creek
& probably made his home with David.  David & Alex are buried in
Paskenta.
