Said to have been born in Scotland, died in what was then Lancaster, now Dauphin, PA in April 1977. He is thought to have been a son of Benjamin Sterrett The traditional story of his life is that as a young boy, he fled with his parents, borthers and two sisters from Scotland to the north of Ireland to evade those opposed to their religious beliefs. In Donegal Co., Ireland. He married Mary Ramsey, said to have been born about 1707. Jane Morrow. James Agnes Mary David Robert Note the above dates for William would suggest that William was born about 1726-27. I have Agnes as born in Pennsylvania in 1730, but William as born in Scotland in 1724 making the emigration date 1727-28. But.. I have Benjamin arriving as early as 1722. --Bob Sterrett
