Source: Chr: Parish Register of Ospringe, Kent. Will: Register of Wills in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury (Somerset House), "Poley" 227, dated 1 Jul 1707; proved 30 Oct 1707. Ord Dates: IGI Batch 7433123-17; Source 935266 Note: Peter G. apparently led a very fast life. Nowd's was alienated by him to Mr. John Smith in 1703; and the Manors of Plumford and Paynier's, together with the greater part of his estates, to Sir Henry Furness in 1704. He had no legitimate issue, and left the remnant of his property in trust for the use of Anne Thomas, his illegitimate daughter by "Anne Thomas, daughter of Sir Robert Thomas, of Glamorganshir, Bart," (i.e. the last Baronet of the line). The way in which this Peter was swindled out of his property by the machinations of one Mr. Hardress and a Mr. Causabon is set out at length in a Chancery suit of 1698--Records at the Public Record Office, Chancery proceedings, Reymardson, Bills and Answers befor 1714, No. 437, "Peter Greenstreet."
