Follow this line. William Findley immigrated 1773. His son John led theimmigration with his wife Mary Boyd and infant son, David in 1761. (Itwas their son Hugh who was killed by the Indians along with another son,John, as the family floated down the Ohio River in 1804.)
They walked across Pennsylvania eventually settling in WestmorelandCounty, Pa. in 1773. His father William and all of his six brothers areveterans of thr Revolutionary War. This family leaves strong history inthe forming of this country. Their son Abel married Rebecca Courtney,they were the parents of William David father of Nancy Izetta. Abelhelped his parents on their trip down the Ohio, but did not move hisfamily from Pa. until 1808. Abel and Rebecca had 17 children. Their sonmoved to Iowa in 1852.
