Information from Virginia Less has a different set of parents for Johann Jacob GLANZ and his brother, Johannes. The research was completed by a German researcher, H. P. Goebel, in 1995 and confirmed from LDS microfilm. Father: Johann Michael GLANZ of Lorbach, Hesse, Germany, baptized 26 March 1706 (godfather is Michael Eckert of Lorbach) who died before 1767 either on the way to Norka or in Norka. He married on 24 Feb 1735 in Diebach-Haag to Esther Jacobine SORBERGER who was born 1713 and died 1775 in Norka; she is daughter of Johann Jacob SORBERGER, schoolmaster at Diebach am Haag (he was born in 1687 and died in 1772 at age 85).Godfather of Johannes: Johannes Roth of Orieshausen.1767 First Settlers List - Norka Colony - Family #36: Johannes GLANZ, single, age 19 reformed faith from Isenburg, grain farmer and his mother: Esther Jacoby (Jacobine - see above information)1775 Norka Census - Family #114: Johannes GLANZ, age 26 and his wife Christina, age 22, their son Johannes, age 3 months and daughter Anna Christina, age 3 and his mother Esther GLANZ, age 63.CENSUS: According to the 1798 census for Norka, he was 51 years old which would make his year of birth 1747. He is in household # 119.CENSUS: According to the 1775 census for Norka, he was 26 years old which would make his year of birth 1749. He is in household # 114. His mother, Esther, was living with the family and is listed as 63 years old.IMMIGRATION: The family was of the Reformed Faith from Isenburg. They arrived on the ship, Vologda, in Oranienbaum on 10 Aug 1766. They arrived in Norka on 15 Aug 1767.CENSUS: On the Original Settlers? List he is listed in family #36 as age 19 living with his mother, Ester Jacoby who is a widow age 53.
