Daniel Allebaugh Is Buried Tuesday __________
Aged Caldwell Man Leads Pioneering Life in Many States; Born in Ohio

Funeral services for Daniel Allebaugh were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. B. W. Rice in charge. Interment was in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery. Mr. Allebaugh was born in Ohio on August 17, 1836 and lived there during his youthful days. In 1861 he was married to Amanda Bender. A few years later Mr. Allebaugh with his family moved to Illinois where they lived for two years and in 1868 he moved farther out in the frontier to the state of Iowa. Two years later he continued his travels westward and settled in the western part of Iowa and in 1893 he traveled still farther, this time moving to Colorado where he lived until 1911. At that time Mr. Allebaugh and his family moved to Idaho and settled in the vicinity of Caldwell where he lived until his death. Mr. Allebaugh enlisted twice in the army during the war of the rebellion but was each time rejected on account of not being able to pass the physical examinations. In 1870 he became a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Allebaugh continually followed a frontier life and when he moved to Iowa he made his home in a sod house. Mr. Allebaugh passed away at the home of his son, E. L. Allebaugh, about four miles south of Caldwell, Sunday morning, August 30, at the age of 95 years and 12 days. He is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Zoro Parisho of Caldwell and Mrs. Ruth Field of Huston; two sons, C. W. Allebaugh of Boise and E. L. Allebaugh of Caldwell; one sister, Mrs. Lila Thomas of Portland; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters and one son.
