Lieutenant William Pratt came from England with the Reveren d Thomas Hooker. He was an original settler of Hartford, Co necticut. He served as Deputy to the Connecticut General Co urt and was a member of the Council of War. He removed to S aybrook, Connecticut in 1645, serving as Lieutenant of th e Saybrook forces in the Pequot War. He married Elizabeth , daughter of John Clark, one of the nineteen patentees nam ed in the Royal Charter from King Charles II.
