Note regarding the christening of the first three children, from "A History of Johann Jost Snyder and his wife Anna Magdalena Elizabetha Flagler..." p. 49:  At this early date services were held in homes before churches were built.  Pieter Lossing's home was well established in the Highland-Fishkill area, earlier described as Hoogelant and later as New Hamburg.  Christenings and other church ordinances were then recorded in the Trinity Lutheran Church record in New York City.  About 1736/37 there was a new church built in Poughkeepsie.  It was a Dutch Reformed Church and convenient to Johann Jost Snyder's location.  All the remainder of their children were christened there, except for Jacob."
