1900 Mich Census (Vol. 62 E.D. 160- Sheet 1, Line 11). Frank Heinz - born Jan.(1833)- age 47 (Must be the date should have been 1853) Germany Naturalized Silina Heinz - born Oct 1861 Switzerland Naturalized Frank Heinz (age 16- son- born April 1884 - born in Wisconsin), Hattie (age 13, daughter, born Oct 1886 in Wisconsin), Henry (age 12- son- born April 1888), CLara (age 8- daughter, born July 1891 in Mich.), Isabella (age 4- daughter born Oct. 1895 in Mich.) Barbara Saltzman -( age 79 ,M.L. - born May 1821- born in Switzerland Naturalized)

27 Mar 1889 signed intent to naturalize- Papers in District Court of U.S. for Western District- Copy in possession of Kathy Brown - PG. 32[ THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE CORRECT FRANK HEINZ - ACCORDING TO DONNA MURPHY'S RESEARCH] On marriage certificate Frank's name is Cotter

Frank HeinzBought land with Rudolph Salzman 13 july 1904, records received at Courthouse, 8 Nov 1906 DEED PG 466-COPY IN POSS. OF KATHY BROWN Sold rights to all pine timber on land 1891 with wife Salina pages 602 & 603 - COPY IN POSS. OF KATHY BROWN

BIRTH DATE FROM RECORD OF births in Gutenberg, Wurtenberg, Germany extracted by Donna Murphy 1995 ( I hold all evidence that Donna got as suspect since she found no connection to connect them to Germany, but skipped that generation- she also has had a serious head injury since she began the research)

1910 MICH. Ontanagon County Census(film # 1374680): Frank and Selina were both naturalized by this time, had immigrated to US FRank in 1874 and Salina (sp) in 1875. It stated that Frank was a farmer and was able to read and write. Clara was a teacher in public school
Frank (,age 57), Salina (age 49), Frank, Jr. (age 24-born in Wisconsin), Henry (age 22- born in Wisc.), Clara (age 19- born in Mich), Isabel (age 13- born in Mich), George (age 9- born in Mich)
This census (1910) stated that both Frank and Salina were born in Germany _wrong. Also, Barbara Salzman was not living with them at this time.

Both his death certificate and obituary give his date of birth as Jan 19, 1853. The obituary states that he was born in Wurtemburg, Germany and came to America when 18 years old.

Somewhere the information we had was given as birth date of September 19, 1853- obviously that is put in question with these two evidences.

When Frank Jr. died, he died without a will on 17 Nov 1921. On the probated records Mae (she didn't go by Mary) Louise Heinz gave as names and ages of legal heirs:
Mae Louise Heinz wife age 25 residence- Topaz, MI
Floyd Leonard Heinz son age 7 yrs " "
Inez Marie Heinz daughter 5 yrs " "
Carol June Heinz daughter 4 yrs " "
Leslie Eugene Heinz son 2 yrs " "
Lyle Frank Heinz son 6 months " "

Mae must have wanted to change Uncle Lyle's middle name from Kenneth (his birth name) to Frank after her husband died, but never made the legal steps to have that done. The ages of the kids is somewhat off- but Floyd would have turned 7 in less than two months and Leslie would have been two the following spring, Lyle was only 5 months old, etc. The death date seems to be the one accurate date on this document, since it was to do with his death.

Frank had not written out a will- and so at his death everything went to Probate.
(Kathy Brown) have 38 pages copied by the Probate court in Ontonagon County that all state Frank died on the 17th of Nov------ not the 14th as given me by Joanne Howse.

F.-Frank Heinz laborer b. in Germany Res.- Matchwood M.- Salina b. in Switzerland October 5, 1990- memo from Katherine Heinz Brown My uncle George was uncle to my father and looked much like him in some respects- He was a good, kind man and I feel grateful to have known him. His second wife, Ella Ham, is yet a marvelous woman who tamed many wild animals and they knew of her gentleness and goodness. They had a trailer on Lake Gogebic 2 miles from where my family had vacation land. They were always fun to visit with while we were "up north." Aside from my generation he was the last of the male Heinz's from my father and older generations.

NOTE Aunt Ella had a stroke in Feb.. She had Alzheimers and couldn't talk much and at the end, didn't know anyone. She died Mon. Mar. 25, 1996.

Funeral was on the 27th at 2 p.m. at Stephenson's Funeral Home in Sebring Florida.
