RESEARCH NOTE:
Sir John Aubrey, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1650. He was the son of Sir John Aubrey, 1st Bt. and Mary South. He married, firstly, Margaret Lowther, daughter of Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hare, on 1 March 1678/79 at St. James', Clerkenwell, London, England. He married, secondly, Mary Lewis, daughter of William Lewis and Margaret Banaster, after 1691. He died in September 1700 at Boarstall, Buckinghamshire, England, after a fall from his horse. He was buried at Llantrithyd, Glamorgan, Wales.
Sir John Aubrey, 2nd Bt. matriculated at Jesus College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 29 October 1668. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Aubrey, of Llantrithyd, co. Glamorgan [E., 1660] in March 1679. He held the office of Sheriff of Glamorganshire from 1685 to 1686. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Brackley between 1698 and 1700.

RESEARCH NOTE:
Mary Lewis was the daughter of William Lewis and Margaret Banaster. She married, firstly, William Jephson before 1691. She married, secondly, Sir John Aubrey, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Aubrey, 1st Bt. and Mary South, after 1691. She married, thirdly, Sir Charles Kemeys, 3rd Bt. in 1701. She married, fourthly, William Aubrey, son of unknown Aubrey, on 10 August 1703 at Boarstall, Buckinghamshire, England. She died in 1717, without issue. She was buried at Boarstall, Buckinghamshire, England.
RESEARCH NOTE:
Peerages both say that she died withouth issue and that she had a daughter Frances Jephson. It must be that the peerages mean that she died without MALE issue, a matter of concern for nobility.
