                   `You may have noticed the change in name here from Blakeman to Blackman. From
all indications, Ephriam went by the name Blackman. That is the way he is
listed in the 1790 census, also seen on his grave stone. Most of his children
used the name Blackman, but not all. His eldest son, Agur, apparently was known
as Blakeman during his earlier years; however, his gravestone reads
`Blackman'. Another son Rufus, a physician, was known as Blakeman his entire
life, and his gravestone is engraved that way.

26 Sep 1930;  SP: 17 Jul 1958; SS: submitted. Also birth listed as Stratford,
