                   I remember living in the old home on Evans Street in Jonesville when he was an
old man. I don't remember him at all. That was the year I was in
kindergarden.He was a very religious man as I understand it. He took care of
the Church grounds [Methodist Church].

                   In his later years he did carpentry in a shop behind his home. He made
furniture and such. I don't recall if that was his life's work or not. He was
married three times and outlived them all. Ido not ever recall seeing him at my
grandparents home as a visitor and he never came to any holiday gatherings.
This was in spite of the fact that he never had any children or other family to
share his holidays with.

                   Uncle Frank came to stay periodically with his sister Stena Baker who was
married to Floyd, my grandfather. I don't know his occupation. He had been
married and I believe that he had two boys. I recall that there was some
disappointment in their behavoir toward their father.  His endowment was done
by Shelby Cox. Uncle Roy [Geo. LeRoy Shippy] a brother wrote  that he had three
children.

                   On the burial records of Mosherville there is an Orvia A. Shippy who died at 6
weeks of age and died on 23 May 23, 1873. Jemima Handgen, his mother was born
in 1867. His father was born in 1861. Orvia is listed as the child of GW and JH
Shippy who are the parties listed above. Perhaps the stone should read 1893
instead of 1873. If this is true then the year of 1991 is inaccurate.
