Joel M. Pitkin moved to WashingtonCounty in Arkansas.  He is buried at a
West Fork cemetery.  The tombstone lists his date of birth as 1860, and
he died in 1928.  In 1884 the community helived in was renamed Pitkin,
this town was renamed Woolsey in 1923.  Joel was the postmast in 1904.
Joel married Lillie Woolsey.  They had 5 children, Lee, John, Hugh,
Stella and Hattie Mae.  Joel was also a Mason, Theresa's father has a
Maxonic sword with Pitkin inscribed on it.
