                   OBITUARY:  Burr Read [sic; Reed], an aged resident of Warren Township, died at his home near Tunnel about noon Saturday. Mr. Reed had reached an advanced age, being 87 years old, and was very much weakened physically. The cause of his death was heart failure. The funeral will occur this afternoon at Tunnel Station.

Here is a transcription of the Last Will and Testament of Burr Reed (my ancestor) who lived the last 40 years of life in Warren Twp, Washington Co., Ohio. Hope this will help someone.LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF BURR REEDI Burr Reed of Warren Township, washington County, Ohio being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not under any restraint, do make and publish this my last will and testament.Item 1. I desire that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid as soon after my decease as possible.Item 2. I have heretofore given to each of my sons William, T. Jefferson, George and John the sum of one thousand dollars. I hereby give and bequeath to my son Aurelius S. the sum of one thousand dollars.Item 3. I hereby give and bequeath to my daughters Evelyn Anderson and Sally Hannah the sum of five hundred dollars each.Item 4. I hereby give and bequeath all the household goods of which I may die possessed to my daughters Evelyn Anderson and Sally Hannah, to be dived equally between them.Item 5. I desire that within one year after my decease my executor herinafter named shall sell and dispose of, at private or public sale, at such price and upon such terms as he may deem advisable, all of my real estate and all of my personal property except said household goods and except a note held by me against my son George which if not sooner paid is to be held and collected by said executor out of my money coming to my son George from my estate. Out of the proceeds of the sale of my real estate and personal property herein provided for I desire and direct to be paid by my executor, first, my debts, funeral expenses and the costs and expenses of administering my estate, second, the legacies hereinbefore given and bequeathed of one thousand dollars to my son Aurelius S. Five hundred dollars to my daughter Evelyn Anderson and Five hundred dollars to my daughter Sallie Hannah, the remainder of said proceeds of said sale of my real estate and personal property herein provided for I hereby give and bequeath to my seven children William, T. Jefferson, George, John, Aurelius S., Evelyn and Sally, or their legal representatives, to be dived between them, per ______, share and share alike.Item 6. Should any one or more of my children or their legal representatives, contest, or institute proceedings to contest, this my last will and testament, such action shall annul and avoid any and all gifts, legacies or devises given or granted by this will to such person or persons, and any and all money which under the terms of this will would otherwise be coming to such person or persons so contesting, or instituting proceedings to contest, this will shall upon such contesting, or institution of proceedings to contest, pass to and be paid to, and is hereby given and bequeathed upon such contesting or institution of proceedings to contest, to those of my said own children, or their legal representatives, who do not participate in such contesting or institution of proceedings to contest, to be diveded between them, per _____ share and share alike.Item 7. I do hereby nominate and appoint Daniel B.
