Nelda E. Pancheri - 11/04/2002 NELDA E. PANCHERI IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Nelda Elnora Grant Pancheri, 91, of Idaho Falls, died November 2, 2002, at her home in Idaho Falls while under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born on September 20, 1911 to Lewis and Blanche Grant in Moapa, Nevada, where her family farmed and lived in a tent home with a wood floor and wood half way up the sides and canvas finishing the sides and the roof over their heads. She was the fourth of six children. At the age of 6 and 1/2 years her family moved to Garfield, Utah, where her father and brother worked in the Utah Copper Mill. At age 9 she moved with her family to Goshen, Idaho, where they started farming again. They later moved to Taylorville, Idaho, where Nelda graduated from the 8th grade. She attended high school at Shelley for one year and then quit and went to work to help support her family. She met her husband, Rudy Pancheri, at a dance at the Taylorville Church. They were married on January 26, 1931. Their daughter LaRene was born two years later in 1934. In 1936 they rented a farm and moved to Osgood, Idaho. Nelda remembers the many hours she spent in the field hoeing sugar beets. In 1945 Rudy and Nelda had saved enough money to buy a farm in New Sweden and pay cash for it. They later sold the farm to their son-in-law and daughter. Nelda and Rudy continued to live on the farm. In their later years they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are: Daughter: LaRene (LeRoy) Reed, Idaho Falls, ID Grandchildren: Alan & Holly Reed, Idaho Falls Bryon & JoAnne Reed, Idaho Falls Doug & LuAnn Charles, Murray, Utah 12 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; her parents; four brothers, Eugene, Clarence, Bob, and Ed Grant; and two sisters, Alice Grant and Louise Prince. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS 39th Ward (7940 North 35 West - Osgood Building), with Bishop Larry Klinger officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
