                   RESEARCH NOTES:  The parish records for Otley, which is less than three miles from Guiseley, show the marriage of Edward Hartley and Sarah Rhodes on 12 JAN 1817.  This is the only couple in the IGI extracted records that fits the criteria for this couple.  The marriage date of this couple and the birth date of the first child fit the patterns of the time period perfectly.  Although most analysis of this data confirms the connection, further research should be performed to confirm this marriage date and maiden name. The christening and birth dates of an Edward Hartley, born in Guiseley, were located in the Guiseley parish registers.  There are a couple other Edward Hartleys born in the surrounding area who may also fit this data, though this is the closest match.  An approximate birth date of 1796-1800 and an approximate birth location of Guiseley was replaced with this probable data.
