They owned a home there, but they were staying in Lathrop, MO with their daughter. And when he met Annie, he dropped Agnes immediately. It was love at first sight for him. Annie's family had moved to Arbuckles Island where there was a lot of cotton to pick. Evie was working in Ft Smith, but he had come to the Island to help Will weigh cotton. That is when he met Annie. They stayed together constantly for the next three weeks, then married, in a Barber Shop in Charleston AR. See notes under Annie for more detailed story. married 1923, lived for 7 days with Will Dodson, then moved into house between Will and Mrs Dotson (on Arbuckles Island, Logan Co AR - near Charleston) until they found a home. Lived in Alma (New Hope) when Harold was born, running Farmer's Union Store, Alma. Lived in Greenwood when Carl was born, Evie was driving a coal truck. Then Evie went to they Oil fields and worked as a gang pusher. Lived here when Peggy was born. Then returned to Arkansas and began digging coal & farming. 1952 Annie and Peggy worked at Dixie Cup, Ft Smith AR Soon after they moved to Sunflower Kansas and Evie worked at the Sunflower Ordinance Plant, (just west of DeSoto). abt 1956 Evey retired, and he and Annie moved to Noel MO to fish, garden and relax. by 1966 they had a home in Noel and one in Grove OK. By 1868 they had moved everything to Grove OK. In abt 1973 they moved to a trailor next to Peggy so that she could help care for them.
