Lambeth DODSON

                   Until more definate proof can be found, we can only suggest that the Lambeth
Dodson discussed hear is the son of the elder Lambeth Dodson of early Richmond
Co VA though his name makes it reasonable conjecture.  We may in some instance
be confusing the records of the two Lambeth Dodson.

On 1 Dec 1779, a patent was issued to Lambeth Dodson for 200 acres in Henry Co
VA.  Some early tythe lists for Henry Co 1778-1780 show Lambeth as a resident
there.  He is listed spradically during the years 1783-1789 on tax lists. Is
is possible that Lambeth died about 1787/88 when his name disappears from the
tax list.

On 10 Feb 1787 a deed is recorded which says "Lamboth Dodson Jr and
Elizabeth, his wife, to John Hutchings, 50 acres in Henry Co."

There is no doubt that Lambeth Dodson, Jr lived in VA on the North Carolina
State line.  His descendants lived in later years over the line from Patrick
and Henry Counties in the North Carolina counties of Stokes and Rockingham.

There is no marriage records or estate settlements for the several Lambeth
Dodson.  The name of Elizabeth is the only wife's name found in records, and we
are not sure which Lambert she was married to.
