Sarah Harmon was baptized in Nauvoo for her Grandmother, SarahGrainger or Groeniger. I believe that Groeniger/Graingeris asecond marriage. Sarah was also baptized for her mother,Tryphena Harmon. Since she did not use maiden names, and neitherdid others who were baptized, I feel that Sarah was married asecond time and that Sarah knew her as Grandma Groeniger. Shewas named after this Grandmother.

Sarah Granger born 1731 daughter of John Grangerand Sarah. Died 1830 in Ravena, Ohio. Her mother, Sarah isdaughter of Thomas Granger and Mindwell Taylor. Her father,John, was born 3 Sep 1706 Suffield, Hartford, CT; married 5 Nov1740 Ann Bissell; died 10 Jan 1791 at Suffield. John is the sonof Samuel Granger and Esther Hanchett. Esther is daughter ofJohn Hanchett and Esther Pritchett. This family looks like astrong possibility for our Sarah Grainger. The Sarah born in1731 had a half-sister (daughter of John and Ann), Margaret bornin 1741 who married Reuben Parsons in 1766. Reuben had a son,Oliver Parsons who married Eunice Remington. this Oliver livednext to Martin Harmon in New York in 1810. Who did the Sarahborn in 1731 marry? Or did she? She still used the name ofGranger in 1830 when she died at age 99. Is this Sarah Harmon'sGrandmother, Sarah Grainger? Was it only an honorary title?
