                   Occupation:  Ship builder, soldier, Congressman
1755 - enlisted for the expedition against the French at Crown Point. Fough in the battle of 8 Sept 1755 when the French under Kieskau were defeated. Kept a diary of graphic notes concerning the first campaign of the French and Indian War.  In 1777 was made a Lt. Col. of Militia, joined Gates against Burgoyne at Saratoga.  Was made a full Colonel in 1784, and in 1788, became Brigadier General of the New Hampshire Militia.

Member of the Provincial Congress in April 1775.  State legislator in its first session in 1784, and again in 1792 when the constitution was adopted.
