Notes:

                         Information on this family was obtained from the Salt Lake City
Genealogical Library, US/CAN book 929.273, G889h, V2, "Simpson, Farme r, Martin,
Shartzer Families" by Nelson Harris, 1990, page 18.  Thomas came to V irginia on
the ship Tyrall in 1616.  Thomas settled on "Ye Olde Neck of Land" ca lled
Farrar's Island.  The settlement became Charles City which is about 1 0 miles
southeast of the city of Richmond.  Robert was born there.  No recor d of
Thomas' wife has been found.
