Boucher Family; Descendants of Daniel Boucher
From The Boucher Family: Jacob was about twenty when his familymoved to Ohio. He became an itinerant minister of the M.E. Church. In1825 he and his family headed West to do mission work Among the Indiansand early pioneers of Iowa and Kansas. Anna, his wife, was a talentedand filled with missionary zeal. Anna and all her daughters werebeautiful singers and the home of Samuel, his brother, was filled withsongs and services that marked the time of their leaving. Jacob and his family first located in Iowa and in 1856 moved toKansas where they were among the founders of Oskaloosa. He preached forfive years in the itinerancy and many years as a local minister atOskaloosa before dying in 1875. In the words of the home paper of thetime, "Ripened by years of experience, and by age, he was ready when theMaster called and he left a holy influence behind, especially with thosewho knew him intimately during the later years of his life."
John left home and started on a trip to the far West and was lost onPike's Peak Trail. He was never seen or heard from again.
He married Anna Mason 14 May 1835 at Seneca Co., Ohio . Anna Mason was born at OH 11 Dec 1819 .
