                   Jacob moved to Pickaway Co., Ohio with his parents in 1805.  After hisfather died and he and his siblings argued over the land which Jacob paid$300 for, he left and came back to Pennsylvania and married Rebecca.   Hebecame deputy sherriff of Berks Co. and lived in Hopewell Township, PA.After paying his siblings $100, his brothers and sisters sent him thedeed of his land about 1820 and he an rebecca returned to Ohio about1832. According to the deed, the land was recorded in Washington Nov 23,1797 in the name of John Rechelderfer and recorded in Jacob's name inPickaway Co., Ohio in December 1820.

                   Rebecca always had more than enough food in the house and she stated thatone dress on the pone and one on the back was enough for anyone.  Rebeccawas a 'workhorse' around the farmland and was quite fast with a knittingneedle.
