Frederick came to America with Nicholas Bayer on the ship "Union" lastfrom Rotterdam and Cowes, lading at Philadelphia on Sep. 30, 1774. Hesettled in Newberry Township, York County, PA. He married an unknownShull who was to have been from a 'good German family'.
Frederick served in the American Revolution, serving under GeneralWashington for eight years. From 1778 to 1783 he served under CountCasimir Pulaski, famous Polish Patriot who came to help the Colonies intheir struggle (pg. 887, Vol. 3, Fifth Series, Pennsylvania Archives).
