Aaron was a veteran of the Civil War enlisting in Company B of theFourteenth West Virginia Infantry. He served 3 years fighting for theUnion as a private. pg. 360 of Morton's Preston County History states: Aaron Lenhart arrived(to Preston County) from Somerset about 1851. He lived first at Morgan'sGlade and afterward near St. Peter's in Grant District. His sons areabout Lenox and Rockville, excepting James A., the ex-sherriff andKingwood merchant.
