Simon P. NICHOLSON
Simon P. Nicholson's Obit read: Simon Nicholson, 91, Berlin, a retiredemployee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, died Monday morning, Jan. 31at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Harold Walker in Somerset. He hadbeen ill only since Sunday. Mr. Nicholson, who had a service record of50 years with the rairoad company, had made his home for the last 18months in Somerset. His wife Mrsl Lucretia (Putman) Nicholson, diedseven years ago. Surviving are five children - William, Benscree, Herbert, Johnstown,Frank, Albany NY, Elwood, Connellsville and Clarence, Friedens. Twodaughters and four sons are dead. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at theJohnson and Son Funeral Home in Berlin, where friends are beingreceived. Internment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. NOTE: death is February 1, 1944, but obit has it as Jan. 31, 1944.
