Alonzo Resley died last evening at 9:30 o'clock at his home in Hancock,
aged 76 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Hancock.
Surviving are: Sons, Bowen, Floyd and James, Hancock; Glen, Baltimore;
sisters, Mrs. W. H. Ellisristy, Strausburg, Va.; Mrs. Mabel Comegys, of
Des Moines, Iowa and Miss Annie Resley, Hancock. The body was removed to
the Snyder-Rowland Funeral Home. Funeral announcements later.

HANCOCK - James Samuel Bowen Resley, 83, of North Pennsylvania Ave., died
Monday at Washington County Hospital. Born near Hancock, he was a son of
Alonza and Fammie Slayman Resley and husband of the late Margaret B.
Oliver Resley. He was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the
Hancock United Methodist Church. He is survived by daughters, F. Pearl
Keefer and M. Adele Douglas, both of Hancock; a sister, Mary Ellen Resley
Ellifirts of Strasburg, Va.; a brother, Glenn M. Resley of Baltimore;
three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held
on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Hancock United Methodist Church. The Rev.
Floyd Truax and the Rev. William E. Merki will officiate; burial in
Warfordsburg Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at
the Grove Funeral Home in Hancock on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9, and at
the church one hour prior to the time of the service. The family requests
the omission of flowers and memorial donations may be made to Hancock
Volunteer Fire Company of Hancock Rescue Squad Inc., or Hancock United
Methodist Church.
