James Slayman, 92, of Newburgh, Ind., died Saturday morning, November 13,
in the Medco Center at Chandler, Ind. His wife, Mrs. Grace Henline
Slayman, died a number of years ago. Slayman was born in Fulton County,
son of Samuel and Mary Tate Slayman, and was a brother of the late Mrs.
Ernest L. Johnson, of Berkeley Springs, W. Va. Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Edna Scott, Newburgh, and Mrs. R. S. Maisal, Glenelg,
Md.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one foster
granddaughter. Services were conducted Wednesday, November 17, at the
Grove Funeral Home in Hancock by the Rev. Thomas Jackson of Berkeley
Springs, W. Va. Interment was in the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace Henline Slayman died at home of her daughter, Mrs. E. J. Scott
in Indiana on Sunday of complications after a long illness, aged 71
years. She was born in and was a former resident of Hancock. She was a
daughter of the late John and Edna Barnhart Henline of Hancock. Besides
husband, James Slayman, Indiana, she is survived by daughters, Mrs. E. J.
Scott; Mrs. Russell S. Maisel, Glen Burnie, Md.; sisters, Mrs. Marshall
Stein, Hancock; brothers, John Henline, Hancock; Arley Henline, Irvin,
Pa.; also several grandchildren. Friends may call at the Grove Funeral
Home in Hancock after 7 p.m. today where services will be held on
Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Orville Schick
officiating. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery at
Warfordsburg.
