BIOGRAPHY: Aggie Mae Minich was about 25 yrs old when she was hired as the Live-in Help (Nanny) for the John Henry's children after their mother died. About 1 1/2 years later, they were married. Aggie raised all the children with great love. Joan remembers that Aggie always had a garden. Joan remembers the green tomatoes that Aggie would can every year and then prepare as 'fried green tomatoes'. After Henry's death, Aggie converted her home to be able to rent part to another family. Years later, after Aggie had fallen and broken her hip, and was in constant pain, she had moved in with Rhoda's family in North Freedom, and later died there. Aggie was nearly blind, maybe with cataracts.
