1904 - Sept - dies at home in Elk City, widow is Euphema.

1904 Sep - John dies from abdominal cancer.  Euphema goes to live with her dau, Ida.

1862 - August, enlisted as a private in the Fourth Michigan Vol. Inf.; served until end of Civil War.

1865 - June 6, discharged;  served 2 yrs  9 m 2 days
1865 -  Discharged at Alexandria, VA;  returned to PA for a short time
