--Source of info: Ralph Godshalk "Genealogical Record of the Descendants of Garret and Anna (FRY) GODSHALK" (25 Oct 1974 of Hatfield, Pennsylvania); Godshalk GODSHALK was on the roster of Captain Daniel Springer's Company or First Company, Fifth Battalion, Philadelphia County Militia during the latter years of the American Revolution. Both Godshalk (father of Garret) and Jacob FRY (father of Anna FRY) were both on the Class Roll of 1781.
Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown in 19 Oct 1781, virtually ending the War. So all female descendants of this marriage should be eligible, if they so desire, to join the "Daughter's of the American Revolution" or known as the D.A.R.
Godshalk continued as a miller and farmer. He is listed in the BOORSE Family book of 1953, of owning 164 acres in 1802. Either he owned a tract of land before he bought the homestead farm in 1801, of 60 acres from his father Garret, or else he acquired contiguous land from neighbors.
Godshalk GODSHALK died intestate. Garret and Henry GODSHALK, presumably the two older sons, were appointed administrators. The record is found in Orphans Court 6481 for the Nov term in 1836. Inventory was passed 28 Jul 1836. Advances had already been made to nine of the children. Henry was not listed, but he is mentioned as receiving $300.00 for administrative services. Inventory of exhibits totaled $4420.14. Amount paid to others totaled $4238.57, so the amount due the estate was a balance of $181.57. Witnessed the 19th day of Nov A.D. 1836. N.B. Boiteau, Register.

Henry bought a farm of 60 acres and 28 perches from the estate of Benjamin V. ALDERFER in 1839 on Sumneytown Pike just above mainland to live. The house had previously been a tavern and a tannery was on the grounds. After Sarah died, Henry and his son John lived with Leonard and Margaret Fetty; Frederick lived with Frederick and Elizabeth ALDERFER.
