                   Obituary: Elsie M. Stahl

Elsie M. Stahl, 90, of Champion, died Fraday, Jan. 15, 1999 in the Bethen Home, Ligonier.  She was born Aug. 12 1908, the state of Virginia, a daughter of the Late Charles J. and Lucy Mumaw Baker.  She was a resident of the Champion and Jones Mill area for most of her life.  She was a member of the Valley Brethren Church.  She is survived by five sons: Robert N. of Ligonier, Riley A. of Jones Mills, and Ronald E. of Acme, Marvin R. of Acme and Dale V. of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two daughters, Mrs. Roscoe (Arlene) Keller of Jones Mills and Mrs. Merle (Jane) E. Lyons of Rockwood; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Stahl, in 1969; a daughter, Louise Blacksten; a son, Charles Verlin Stahl; a granddaughter; her brother, Titus and a twin sister, Hansie Baker.  Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Yoder officiating.  Interment will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Donegal Township.
