Samuel K. Cramer. His age is given as 55 in 1860 census, 53 in 1870, and 63 in 1880. 1817 was a best guess as to his year of birth. He was a farm laborer in 1860 and 1870 and a farmer in 1880. This family was followed through the U.S. Censuses from 1850 to 1920. See the summary in the Appendix.

In a letter by Patience Cramer Keeler, he is supposed to have had a twin sister, Rachel, who married a Harbaugh and who lived near Connellsville, PA.

The digit 9 was difficult to read and may be in error. A note in data from Mazie Cramer Emanuel says that she died in a fire. She is supposed to have been lighting a kerosene lamp that exploded.

                   RIN 94. Benjamin Harrison Cramer. In 1900 census married 23 years = married 1877. In 1910 census married 31 years = m. 1879. Est. probable marriage year as 1878. He was born probably in Salt Lick Twp., Fayette Co, PA. Probably married in Pennsylvania and moved to Dixon, Lee Co., IL immediately as all children were born in IL. First child born May, 1879 in IL. He moved to Wayne Twp. of Cass Co. Michigan between 1910 and 1920. In 1920, he, Marie and three
sons appear in the 1920 census there. Cass Co. death record gives 25 Nov, 1924 as date of death, aged 69 years, 9 months and 23 days. His occupation is listed as farmer. He was taken back to Dixon, IL for burial. His age in the censuses is consistent with his birth date as 2 Feb., 1855. An obituary in the possession of Grace Cramer states that he came to Lee Co., IL from Fayette Co. PA in 1876 and settled in Dixon in 1877. He moved to Michigan in 1912 and resided in Wayne Twp., Cass Co. until his death from pneumonia.
