John CRAMER
From Ora L. Flanningam [Brderbund WFT Vol. 12, Ed. 1, Tree #3318, Date of Import: Jul 28, 1998] Served in the War of 1812; buried in CRAMER Cemetary NE of Centerville.John Cramer & Eliza King had 10 children. This is a major branch of the Carmer family. See the Cramer Family History by Ora L. Flaningam & Mazie Cramer Emanuel (Family History Library microfilm 2055164, It. 4, 1994). John Cramer. He lived on the John Faidley farm near Kingwood, PA. Marriage date estimated when he was aged 20. Birth and death dates from his marker in the Cramer-King Cemetery at New Centreville, PA, which appears to be original. The complete text of his marker is: "In memory of John Cramer. Was born the 30th day of June 1792 and departed this life the 11th day of January A.D. 1836 aged 43 years 6 months and 11 days. Father I give my spirit up. And trust it in thy hand. My dying flesh shall rest in hope. And rise at thy command." In Mazie Emanuel's original sources, he had a son, Benjamin, which we now believe does not exist. Benjamin was supposed to have a son, Samuel whose children are a perfect match for the children of Adam Senior's son Samuel. All of those 'grandchildren' of John have been merged with Samuel's family.[Brderbund WFT Vol. 12, Ed. 1, Tree #3318, Date of Import: Jul 28, 1998] Served in the War of 1812; buried in CRAMER Cemetary NE of Centerville.John Cramer & Eliza King had 10 children. After his father died in 1836, Cassimer apparently became the "head" of the household. In the 1850 census, he, his mother Eliza, and 4 of his younger siblings are listed in the household. In the 1860 and 1870 census, only he and his mother are in the household. If he married Mary McNeal, as recorded by Mazie Emanuel's sources, it was apparently after the death of his mother in 1872, since he was still single in 1870. === The 1850 census on this family reads: Casimer Creamer, 36, Farmer; Eliza Creamer, 57, Chauncey Creamer, 22; Samuel Creamer, 20, Margaret Creamer, 19; Henry Creamer, 18. These census ages exactly match those given by Mazie Emanuel. === Note by Rosalie Hartinger: Cassimer was a blacksmith & superior mechanic.
Charles Cramer. The 1850 census for this family reads: Charles Creamer, 33, Farmer; Catharine Creamer, 28; Norman Creamer 8; Margaret, 5; Martha Creamer, 2. = = = = = Turkeyfoot Twp. website has hs year of death as 1879.
Margaret Cramer. A reading of her stone in the Cramer-King Cem. is: Died 9-28-1850 aged 51-6-25. The '5' of '51' is probably a misreading for '3', since her father was born in 1792. If she were 51 when she died, her birth year would be 1799. Rosalie Hartinger also notes that she died at Age 31, unmarried.
David K. Cramer. He was called David Cramer "of Indian Head." Fayette Co., PA.
Mazie Emanuel's sources apparently erroneously gave his middle Initial as "B." instead of "J." === In the 1850 census he ( aged 20) is listed with his brother Cassimer's family in Milford Twp, Somerset Co., PA. In 1860, Samuel(30) & "Rosan" (25) are listed in Middle Creek Twp, Somerset Co. as "married within the year." In 1870, he & Rosanna are still in Middle Creek Twp. and the children are: 1870 1880 John J.(8) John J.(19) David R.4 David R.(17) Nora M.(2/12) Nora M.(10) --- Mary A.(5) Nora was born in March. This family is being researched by a descendant, Traci Howell, who has sent us Samuel's Will, Estate Inventory and other papers.
