Johannes LENHART

                   He was baptized at Strayer's and sponsored by George and BarbaraRichter.  He purchased 80 acres in Muskingum County, Ohio on May 11, 1809and purchased 70 acres in Madison Township from his brother Christoph in1810.  John's heris received 161 acres in Muskingum County from John Fordon May 20, 1828. (end)

G, [Georgia Bopp]JPL had a son Christopher (SR) b 1740Chris Sr. had a son Johannes (John) b. 1779 York Co. - Salem church records.It is my belief that the author of the will was this John.That would have made this John the brother of Chris JR. (Chris b 1768)This is based on Westmoreland co. PA land records {Chris JR and John own landtogether}. Then later, land records in Muskingum/Perry co. OH {Chris Jrsells to John} and is John is living across the road from the C&C Lenhartstone house (built 1817) that Carole told me about. Also, Chris JR is awitness to John's Will.I am trying to sort out some early tax lists and census from OH to confirm itfurther, however, as sure as I am, I have no absolute proof.Perhaps a newspaper article might show up.....? John appeared to have died 3days after he wrote his Will. That indicates a possible accident of somesort. Maybe it made the newspaper. Since this isn't my direct line, Ihaven't researched it before.I have some records coming from the Recorder's office in Muskingum Co.OH,...In fact, I am wondering why I haven't been advised of the bill or costby now. I left a long list there for copies to be made. Maybe thatinformation will help.If John isn't Chris JR's brother, then I have no idea who else named Johnwould be so intertwined with him like that.If I find any more to confirm the connection, I will let you know.Nan~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jacob Crooks, James McNaughton and Eliza Lenhart the executors named inthesaid will who appear in Court and are sworn., where uponbetter testamentry with a copy of the will annesced are foundaccordingly (21?)WILLIn the name of God Amen.
