Ludwig MOHLER, SR

                   My thinking June 25 1993, is that1715Henry  might be s/o Ludwig Sr.
He is too old to be a son of 1711 Henry, Sr or of their brother George.
1715Henry also could be totally unrelated to the Lancaster branch.
1715Henry had the following children: 1735Jacob,
1737John,1739Valentine and 1741 Margaret.  I have a copy of
1715Henry's will and he mentioned these four children.
In the PA IGI there are the following children born to a Jacob Mohler
   and listed as Barwick, York Co PA:  abt1763 Solomon, abt 1768Henry,
abt1771Jacob and a John born 6 May 1774 no parent listed.  IGI also had a
Margaret Mohler married Valentine Pressel about 1771 in Adams Co.

Assuming that this Henry is a member of our family is pretty
farfetched but Ludwig,Sr's other sons moved on also - George Adam to
VA and Ludwig, Jr to Baltimore, and we have nothing else on son Jacob
except that he was under age21 in 1770, did he stay or move west also.

They give the following reasons  for existance of Ludwig Mohler, Jr.
1. There was a Ludwig & wife baptised in 1737 with wife
2. A Ludwig paid tax ywo yrs after Ludwig 1st died
PA tax list 1751-1758, Gerberich
3. A Ludwig was naturalized in 1761, Ludwig 1st died in 1754
4. Frederick Co., MD has a Ludwig buying land in 1769 and selling in 1776
no further land records after that.

another source lists his death as May  17, 1776 in Maryland
deed bk M-1-202, Lancaster, 15 June 1767, land received by Lodwick
Moler in Feb 1747 and deeded to John Brubaker in 1767.  110 acres and
81 acres, 2 tracts in Earl Twp, for 750 pounds, Lodwick & wife Ann.  Has
to be Jr. since Ludwig, Sr died in 1754.  This may have been when Jr.
went to MD
                  

                   There was a George Mohler & wife baptised in Ephrata in 1739, along
with Henry & wife, records of Conestoga Dunker Church, Lanc. Co.
I think that was George I, bro of Henry, Sr & Ludwig Sr

He turned up in records in Frederick Co. VA (now Jefferson C., W VA), as
George Adam Moler. A son was born in 1758.  he had a land grant in 1762.
There were 7 sons and three daughters surviving at his death.
