                   Md Dorothy CABLE in 1816, Somerset Co., Pa.  Buried at Kunkle Cemetery,
Windber, Pa. (Somerset Co.).  Md. 1 Sep 1816.  John served in the War of 1812
as a Private, 5 Bn 1 Brig., Penn. Infantry.  His tomestone is insribed in that
nmanner although neither the Federal Archives nor State Archives of Penn. have
copies of his military records.  Entered at the Veterans' Office, Ebensburg,
Pa., is the following information:  John FAUST enlisted 30 Aug 1814 and was
discharged 5 Mar 1815; verified 2 Feb. 1935, page 285, Block 9, Cambria County
Grave Registration.  Further proof of John's military service is contained in
the Penn. Archives, Series 2 (on Muster Roll of Capt. Jeremiah Rees' Company).
John, Frederick, and sisters Catherine, Eve, Elizabeth, and Susanna all moved
to Somerset Co. together, prob. about 1812.  CABLE also spelled KEABLE. John
was brother to my Catherine ("Kate") who md. David SHAFFER, and is buried in
Kunkle Cemetery outside of Windber, lived 75y 5 mo 26 da.  John's gravesite was
memoralized on June 5, 1976 by Johnstown Chapter, National Society, United
States Daughters of 1812, PA.  Memoral remarks by Mrs. William Berkstresser
from Ebensburg and Miss Helen Steele from Windber.  Written in The Era, June
16, 1976, supplement to The Tribune Democrat Fustiness and Editorial Offices,
Box 386, Windber, PA 15963, ph. 535-6634.  Kunkle Cemetery is at Scalp Level,
nr. Windber.  See obituary in Johnstown Tribune, Oct 5, 1894, and "Two
Centuries of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren."  I have file on him.
