Notes:
It is presumed by Dr. Richard Hoh of Greifensee that one or two children
were born between 1739 and 1745 when Johann Valentin was born, however,
he did not find any dates. In a diary of an Adam Muller, who lived in the.
19th century at Gerhardsbrunn it is stated "persons told that possibly the
first persons who emigrated were Valentin and Abraham Hoh". Therefore, it
is possible that Valentin had an older brother named Abraham, howvever,
as stated Dr. Hoh has never found any dates.

Dr. Hoh states in his letter of August 8, 1988 "It is to presume that one
or two childs were born between 1739 and 1745 when Johann Valentin was
born, but I did not find any dates. In a diary of an Adam Muller, who
lived in the 19th century at Gerhardsbrunn are to read: persons told, that
the possibly first persons who emigrated were Valentin and Abraham Hoh.
Therefore, it is possible that Valentin has had an elder brother named
Abraham; but as I said I never found any date."

Notes:
According to an August 8, 1988 letter from Dr. Richard Hoh this is the
Valentine that arrived on the Ship Sallee at Philadelphia on October 5,
1767. However, he returned to Gerhardsbrunn about 1775 to claim his in-
heritance. Due to the Revolutionary War between 1776 and 1783 he stayed
at Gerhardsbrunn. (We have speculated that he might be the Valentine of
Woodberry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania who bought a 98 acre farm
in December of 1797 since his wife had died in February of 1796 and he
may have decided to return to America again. However, as of 8-1988 we
really have no basis for this assumption and several items which weigh
against it such as several small children that he would have had to leave
in Gerhardsbrunn.)
