Death date corrected by obituary found in July 13, 1916 edition of the
Quenemo News. This hand written copy was obtained from Dorothy Mae Smith
Brown of Baldwin, KS in a communication of May, 1988. Subsequently the
obituary was copied from the Quenemo News by Richard E. Hay.
The grave site was visited, there is no stone for Simon, only his wife's
grave is marked by a stone. The cemetery is on the north side of the Douglas/
Franklin county line. The Appanoose Brethern church is on the south side
of the road across from the cemetery.

Based on this her birth date would be 31 Dec 1853.
Information submitted by Kirk Goddard Larson based on the book "Peffley-Peffly
-Pefly Families in America" (1728-1938) by May M. Frost et al gave a birth date
of 30 Nov instead of 31 Dec. This source also provided place of birth, middle
name and ancestry of Sarah.
