1900. He worked in the beet fields and at other jobs and then went on to
California, returning to Shelton in 1903. He purchased a livery business with
Everett Amos and it was run as a partnership until 1916. John continued to
operate the livery as sole owner until 1927. He then worked at the Motor Inn
filling station until his death in 1932. Reah Spencer spelled his middle name
"Pool" instead of "Poole". Louise agreed to this spelling.
