"Funeral for Allen H. Landers, 8020 N. Hurst St. will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes. Mr. Landers, 67, died Wednesday in his home. A resident of Portland for 35 years, he was born in Sheffield, Ala., May 1, 1903. He was a bridge operator and a dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring four years ago. Mr. Landers was a member of the Mt. Scott Golden Year Club. Survivors include his wife, Audrey; two sons, Wayne of Portland and Leo of Beaverton; two step-sons, Willis Johnson of Portland and Ralph Johnson of North Hollywood, Calif., a step-daughter, Mabel King of Bothell, Wash.; a sister, Bessie (Melvin) Yadon of Portland, and a brother, Jesse of Portland. Interment will be in Rose City Cemetery."

"Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Burlingame Baptist Church for Anna Ethel Schmidt, a Hillsboro resident who died Saturday in her home. She was 82. Mrs. Schmidt was born in Dodge City, Kan. and came to Portland in 1929. In the 1930's she worked as a waitress at the Bohemian Restaurant and for 20 years worked at the Crab Bowl, retiring in 1973. She operated the Pal Shop Restaurant for three years in Vernonia and was a member of the Naomi Group of the Burlington Baptist Church and the Rebekahs. Surviving are two sons, Allen L. Landers of Hillsboro and Wayne Landers of Portland; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private interment Skyline Memorial Gardens."
