Notes:
"Millard P. Moler, 85, died December 27, 1983 at the Meade District Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1898 at Wright, KS to Peter M. and Katherine (Krejci) Moler, the 6th of 12 children and married Elfa M. Thompson on October 12, 1924. She preceded him in death July 28, 1968. To this union were born 4 dughters: Esther, Faye, Phyllis, and Louise. Two daughters, Phyllis and Louise perished in a snow storm in 1948. Early in his life, Millard helped his father in farming. He loved to tell about breaking horses. He moved with his parents to Meade in 1920. At that time he was converted in a tent meeting, professing his faith in god. With parents and brothers and sisters, he was instrumental in the organization of the Meade Church of the Nazarene in April of 1924. He helped in church where he was needed - as song leader, church treasurer, Sunday School teacher and board member for many years. He was always faithful to church, bringing his family to all services. Millard was a diligent employee of the Cudahy Packing Co. at their silica mining plant north of Meade for over 25 years before becoming interested in farming. At the time of his retirement he was an employee of the City of Meade. It was a joy for him to keep the Meade City Park beautiful for the residents of Meade and those passing through. Millard was a hard worker and loved to befriend those around him in need. During his last years, Millard was forced to live quietly due to poor health and much time was spent in reading. He thoroughly enjoyed reading about early American history. He lived little children and often challenged his grandchildren to a game of checkers. During this Christmas season, he played several games with two of his granddaughters. As a family it was our privilege to enjoy one last meal together around the table just hours before his death. Survivors: Daughters, Esther M. Cheney and Faye I. Pohl of Meade, KS. Five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Sisters: Florence R. Wheeler, Dallas, TX; Gladys A. Moler and Opal K. Morgan of Indianapolis, IN; Martha Gowens, Fontana, CA. Brother, John V., Garden City. also a host of nieces and nephews."
