That eve the nursing home called and said she passed away at 8:30 P:M. Edna did not know the family about 6 months before she died, At the time of death she still had approx. $80,000.00. After her bills were paid the remaining
money was divided among the 3 living children and Margaret and Jeep's share went to their children. Her estate is recorded in Allegany County court house.
Mother had an 8th grade education, but she did very well the 30 years she lived after her husband died. She always wanted to pay her share of anything, and always would say you did not have to buy that for me that. Mother made quilts from pieces of fabric left over from other projects. She would quilt the quilts. She gave each of her children a quilt, and started giving her grandchildren a homemade quilt. She would cut quilt pieces in the evening while watching TV. Edna and Ralph went on very few trips, however they did spend one winter in Florida, but mother could not get Ralph to go back the next year and then he died in Oct 1962.

On Saturday Night they had two sessions, which allowed the parents to go out. Jeep was in the Navy during World War 11 assigned to a US Destroyer in the South Pacific. His ship was torpeado one time, however, the ship was crippled and managed to get to safety. He spent much time with the youth traveling with the teams participating in Roller Hockey tournaments all over the US. Members of his Hockey team participated in International Roller Hockey. The people who used his roller skating rink adhered to his rules of conduct; no drinking, no smoking, no drugs, and the kids stayed there until their parents picked them up. He was noted to have taken the kids home when parents did not come and pick them up. The Community missed him very much after his sudden death.
