Lawrence BEARUP

Lawrence ran away from home like his brothers at a very young age.  (Because of the cruel beatings received at the hands of their father.)
At twelve years old he arrived in the city of Petosky all alone.  He was employed for 41 years at the Michigan Tanning and Extract Co., plant at Kegomic, Michigan.  Most of those years were spent as a bookkeeper and store operator.   He also worked at "The Hub" for 5 years prior to his retirement.  He served in France during World War I with the U.S. Army and was an active member of the V.F.W. Post 2051.
