He was a salesman for Sears. He retired in 1982 as owner/ operator ofHappy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream Parlor in Oskaloosa Iowa. He was a Navyveteran of W.W. II and was a member of the Elks Lodge.
Burial will be in the Columbus City, Iowa cemetery. Survivors include hiswife Jean, two sons Mike of Muscatine Iowa, and Greg of Frontenac Kansas,two step/sons Mark and Troy Gardner both of Muscatine Iowa, two daughtersMrs. Jerry (Kim) Jacobs of Muscatine, and Mrs. Don (Cheryl) Hatch of FortCollins Colorado, three step daughters Jenne Gardner and Beth Gardnerboth of Muscatine, Mrs. Tom (Teresa) Sharar of Wapello Iowa, 13g/children, his step mother Mina Hafner of Fairfield Iowa, two brothersByron and Dale Hafner both of Letts Iowa, and one sister Mrs. Ed (Adelia)Klipstein of Mesa Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1970, his parents, and onedaughter.
